My Approach

I offer a neuroaffirmative, relationship-based approach to therapy. That means we focus on:

– Understanding behaviors as meaningful communication.
– Supporting emotional regulation, not compliance.
– Creating environments where your child can feel safe, seen, and understood.

Rather than asking “How do we stop this behavior?” we ask:
“What is your child experiencing, and how can we support them?”

WHO I WORK WITH:

I work with:
– Autistic and neurodivergent children and teens (I welcome adults too.)
– Children experiencing sensory, emotional, or cognitive overload (meltdowns, shutdowns and burnout).
– Parents who want to better understand their child and feel more confident in how they support them.

Sessions are fully online, making support accessible, flexible, and consistent.

WHAT WORKING TOGETHER LOOKS LIKE:

Therapy is not just about your child—it’s about the relationship around them.

We may work on:
– Understanding meltdowns as nervous system overload (it's not misbehavior).
Supporting your child in recognizing and moving through their emotional experiences.
Helping parents respond in ways that feel more connected, grounded, and aligned with their child’s needs.
– Gently reducing shame that can build when children are misunderstood and increasing connection.

Parent sessions are often a key part of the process.

WHY ONLINE THERAPY WORKS:

Online therapy allows your child to engage from a familiar, comfortable space.

It also allows us to:

– Work within real-life contexts
– Include parents more naturally and consistently
– Reduce stress related to transitions, new environments, or unfamiliar settings.

This approach is not about changing who your child is—it’s about understanding them more deeply and supporting them in feeling safe, capable, and connected.
